“ALL OF THE GREEN THINGS” SMOOTHIE!

I love me a good smoothie.  Super easy to throw together and super easy to eat on the go (when Daycare drop-off isn’t going quite as planned…).  And it is also one of the only ways I can get my little dude to eat vegetables…

This one covers so many bases including a kick of protein to keep you full all morning.

My protein powder of choice is Sun Warrior protein because there are no additives, sugars, or whey.  Genuine Health Fermented Vegan protein is another good one.  Whey protein doesn’t sit well with me and my digestion so I try and stay away but if you can handle it, I suggest New Zealand fermented whey.

As for the fruits and veggies in the smoothie, as much organic as you can.

I do smoothie prep at the beginning of the week by placing all the prepped fruits and veggies in a big baggie (that I rinse and reuse) and the dry stuff in a tupperware container.  That way in the morning I just dump the baggie into the blender and turn it on and then add the dry goods and voila!

“ALL OF THE GREEN THINGS” SMOOTHIE!
-1/2 a banana
-1 small apple (cored)
– 2 large kale leaves with the stems taken off (if you don’t have a super charged blender, you can just add more spinach)
-1 large handful of spinach
-2 stalks of celery (you can also add 1/2 a cucumber instead or on top of the celery)
-1 tablespoon of hemp hearts
-1 scoop of protein powder
-juice of 1 lemon
-1 inch chunk of peeled ginger
-1 cup water
-2 handfuls of ice

Throw all of this in a blender liquefy it!  If your blender isn’t super duper power filled, throw the water and the greens in first and blend that first, then add the rest of the ingredients.
