Diastasis Recti
(abdominal separation)

How to find out if you have it and what to do about it.

Diastasis Recti is a relatively common issue that plagues Mamas after having babies.  It becomes more and more prevalent the more babies you have.

Diastasis Recti is a separation in your abdominal muscles.  There is, literally, a gap between the right and left side of your abdominals.  A severe case of this separation manifests itself by looking like you are still 4-5 months pregnant after about a year post-birth.  This is a simple way to identify it but diagnosing diastasis recti is definitely trickier than that.  Watch the video below to learn how to test yourself.

HOW TO DIAGNOSE DIASTASIS RECTI AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.
If you do have Diastasis Recti there will be some adjustments you will have to make so that you aren’t exacerbating the problem.  One of the best things you can do is hire a post-natal fitness specialist (Hi!) or if the divide is quite large, an amazing physiotherapist that focuses on pelvic floor and diastasis recti repair.
